Chile , Argentina. Somebody have the same plan ?

I'm finish this trip. Amaizing 6000 km. January to April 2010. Chile and Argentina from Atakama to Ushuaia.

Cool do you have some pictures?
I am flying on the 27 december but we will ride only in Norths Argentina(from Salta to San Antonio de los Cobres,after norths on the Ruta 40 to Iruya and down to Tucuman) any tips?

I am going to Argentina end Novemeber til begining february and will bike along the Argentinia - Chile border along the route 40, and possibly do some side trips.My plan is to bike from North to south, as winds are behind you then.

I will fly in Buenos Aires and go to San Juan or Mendoza.

I have a question...do you think it's necessary to have a GPS or just the maps and compass are fine.

ok..good to know that you only used a map, as I will also just use a map, and not a GPS.

One other question, did you do the pass Los ANdes to Mendoza? Or did you get a bus across? How was it?
Did you do the passo augua negra? from which side?
